Welcome to Black Horse, the dark horse that puts colour into Equestrian clothing. We are Australian owned and designed. We live in the Macedon Ranges and breed the beautiful black Morgan Horses you see in our advertising. We pride ourselves in using local talented photographers, models and graphic artists in our product development. The last few years have seen us expand rapidly Australia wide and soon to overseas outlets.
Our mission to provide quality and affordable that fit real Australian women. Our fits are generous and most people buy one size smaller than other brands.
New this Winter are the Sam Pro - seat Jodds, are super more stretchy version of the Colmax Jodds with a wide waistband. $169 The patterned seat allows a little more movement than the silicon strips, we have also used this seat pattern on the Elysia Jodds which look striking in black with the pink trim or navy with a bright aqua trim. We have also developed a new improved version of the embossed seat jodds, this harder wearing silicon seat keeps its pattern shape and provides good leg contact, at $159 they are a seriously good buy. The first item to make it into my wardrobe this Winter was the Shannon grey long sleeve shirt, a really classy look yet practical for Autumn weather.
Winter 2016 sees the continuation of Silicon seat "Coolmax jodds" and the amazing compression nylon lycra tights with a full seat. These leggings and jodds use Performance technology combined with the latest gripping seats. Coolmax is a breathable light fabric which stays dry, the Tecnically cool polo top has similar properties great for competing or for those in the humid Queensland weather.
The Rikki jodds are bamboo cotton which is thick hiding the bumps, yet very breathable, I really like the white for competition as the dust seems to brush off rather than sink in!!!
We have a lovely range of vests and coats designed to be worn riding or out and about. My favourite is the Michelle Vest which is warm yet easy to ride in at only $169 a bargain.

Castlefin Equestrian is an online and mobile Equestrian business based in the Yarra Valley, Victoria. As a keen competitor myself I enjoy trying new products, keeping up with the latest trends that maximise the horse and rider's performance and results both during training and competition. A lot of the products are also aimed at increasing the comfort and safety of both horse and rider.
I have been involved in horses for most of my life which spans over 30 years, from Pony Club and Adult Riding Club level up to EA in mostly Horse Trials but also like to keep improving my skills and competing in dressage jackpots and showjumping days. I also enjoy having lessons every week and attending clinic's.

Birth of the DUNGBEETLE
How a frustrated horse husband devised a better way to pick up sh*t
Long suffering horse husband Twig was sick of fixing Rachelle’s banged up mesh poo scoop on a regular basis. Hammering out dings. Re-attaching handles. The damn thing always needed repairing.
At last it was finally pronounced dead after Rachelle backed over it with the horse float (whoops!)
Terrified by the prospect of having to do constant repairs on yet another purchased scoop, Twig put to work his years of experience designing prototypes to create something stronger and more durable. He emerged from the shed with a beautifully crafted bright yellow scoop that would change the face of horse poo collection!
Rachelle was thrilled with her new handmade, original Twig-built poo scoop. After 6 months of hassle-free cleaning up paddocks full of poo, she had an epiphany:
This poop scoop was awesome.
It was in the same perfect condition as it was on day one.
Twig was so clever.
Others needed to own a poo scoop like this!
The amazing little insect that inspired our name
Dung beetles are the undisputed poo disposal champions of the world. Their power-to-weight ratio is breath-taking! These little heroes can pull over 1000x their body weight – the equivalent of a person pulling six fully loaded double decker buses.
Their power was revered even in Ancient Egypt, where the god Khepri had the face of a dung beetle and was believed to roll the sun across the sky every day, like a giant ball of poo.
Hence these magnificent creatures inspired the name of our legendary DUNGBEETLE manure scoop.
